How to Get a Duplicate Purchase Invoice in India

For an online order, open the retailer’s order history and look for an invoice download. For a shop purchase, contact the original seller and ask it to search its sales records. Whether a duplicate can be issued depends on the seller’s records and process.

General information only; warranty coverage and accepted proof depend on the current seller and manufacturer terms.

For an online purchase

Sign in to the retailer account that placed the order, open Orders or Purchase History, and select the item. Look for Invoice, Download invoice, or Tax invoice; labels may differ across apps and websites. If there is no download link, contact the marketplace or seller through the order page and ask how to obtain a copy.

For Amazon Business orders, Amazon’s published instructions say to open Your Orders, find the order, and select Invoice. Other platforms may use a different flow, so follow the current instructions in your account.

For a purchase from a shop

Contact or visit the original shop and ask if it can search its records and provide a duplicate bill. Share the approximate purchase date and time, product name or model, approximate amount, and name or phone number used at purchase. If you paid digitally, a transaction reference may help identify the sale.

What to check on the duplicate invoice

Check that the copy is readable and matches the purchase: seller, date, item description, amount, and any model or serial number your manufacturer requires. Warranty proof rules differ. For example, realme India’s policy describes invoice details needed as purchase proof, while LG India’s terms ask for proof of purchase with the corresponding model or serial number.

If a service centre has asked for a detail missing from the invoice, contact the seller and manufacturer before travelling. Ask what additional record or verification they will accept.

Is a payment statement a duplicate invoice?

No. A bank, card, or UPI record can help the seller locate the payment, but it may not show the item and other details on an invoice. Request the document from the original retailer and ask the manufacturer whether it accepts an alternative proof for warranty service.

Save the invoice after you recover it

Keep the PDF or a clear photo in a backed-up location. Save the product model, serial number, warranty card, and purchase date alongside it. BillzWise can scan receipts and keep bills and warranty information together.

Quick checklist

  • For online orders, look in order history for an invoice or tax-invoice download.
  • For shop purchases, ask the original seller to search its sales records.
  • Use the order ID or payment reference to help locate a sale, not as a guaranteed invoice substitute.
  • Check the invoice details against the warranty requirements for the product.

Quick answers

Can I download an old invoice from an online order?

Often the invoice is available from the order details or purchase history. If you cannot find it, contact the seller or marketplace from the order page.

Can a shop reprint a lost bill?

Ask the original shop whether it can retrieve the purchase and provide a duplicate. Share the date, item, amount, and payment reference if you have them.

Is a UPI or card screenshot a duplicate invoice?

No. It shows a payment but may not contain the seller and product details on an invoice. Use it to help the retailer trace your purchase.
